Public Speaking 1

This workshop is for everybody who wants to improve their ability to speak in front of a group. Whether it’s your first time exploring public speaking, or you are a seasoned expert – this workshop is for you! Using improv and other stage techniques will help you with your stage presence, delivery and confidence. Instructors Stephen Sim and Caity Curtis (TEDxWinnipeg, The Winnipeg Improv Festival) will guide you from page to stage.

UNBLOCK (Improv to overcome writer’s block)

Have you ever stared at a blank page wanting to write but just weren’t able to start? We can help you! UNBLOCK uses the power of improv to destroy the obstacles that hold your creative force back. You will be guided by world class improvisers Stephen Sim and Caity Curtis. Their specially designed exercises will unlock creativity and unblock you from what is holding you back – with lots of laughter along the way.

Spoken Word (with a performance)

Stephen Sim and Caity Curtis

Spoken Word is about performing your words and breathing life into the page. Not only will you work on writing performance poetry, you will also learn performance technique and have more confidence taking the stage. You will be guided by Stephen Sim and Caity Curtis, two renowned improvisers and performers. This class is the best of both worlds, since once your writing is complete you will have a public performance in the Prairie Ink restaurant to truly level up and feel the live energy from a real audience.
